The Mount Pleasant Inn

The Mount Pleasant Inn is an award-winning family-run bed and breakfast in the beautiful setting of Merthyr Vale. Locally known as The Black after its links with the Black Lion Sidings which used to control the coal leaving the colliery; today, it offers a friendly place to eat, drink and stay.

Our lounge bar offers a great place to relax and you can sit in our beer garden and admire the amazing views. Our ever-changing menu offers seasonal specials using local ingredients. In this area of Wales, there is so much to do, with the Brecon Beacons offering outdoor activities, fishing, climbing and excellent walking opportunities and the Taff Trail running next to the inn, so we are ideal as a stopover for walkers or cyclists.
