Darwin’s Kitchen Bar and Rooms offers a restaurant, cocktail and jazz bar, with boutique-style guest rooms in the heart of Shrewsbury. Situated on St Mary’s Street, guests will find a welcoming environment with a great look, with a botanical feel and Charles Darwin-inspired interior design.

We serve amazing food throughout the day. The menu includes dishes such as pan fried duck breast with fondant potato, a trio of local Wenlock Edge sausages with root veg mash, chef’s beef burger, a confit of belly pork and much, much more including options for children, vegetarian and vegans. Relax in our colourful conservatory, or enjoy a cocktail in our lounge. We also have regular live entertainment throughout the week featuring talented local musicians.

Our 4 bed and breakfast rooms offer contemporary en suite shower rooms, luxury toiletries, a TV, free Wifi, fridge and a hospitality tray. We have king size rooms and a spacious Suite. The Suite has the additional benefit of a desk, separate lounge / seating area and more storage. A delicious breakfast buffet or hot breakfast will be served in the dining room in the morning.
