Hotels, B&B's and Self Catering in Moretonhampstead

Moretonhampstead is a charming market town situated on the north-eastern edge of Dartmoor National Park. Its position makes it ideal as a base to explore Dartmoor, Devon and beyond. The town is popular for outdoor activity holidays, with a range of facilities for walking, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding and bird watching. The town has a variety of eateries, inns and teashops, as well as a growing number of public art installations, an open-air swimming pool and its own town letter box trail. Other places of interest include The Cross Tree, immortalised by R D Blackmore in his 1882 novel Christowell: a Dartmoor Tale. Standing behind The Cross Tree are the famous Almshouses, built in solid granite. The granite church dedicated to St Andrew dates from the mid-15th century and is a Grade I-listed building. Just outside of the town there is a golf course and Miniature Pony Centre and Animal Farm.
