Info

Devon is one of the southernmost counties in England, reaching from the Bristol Channelin the north, to the English Channel in the south, and bordering the counties of Cornwall, Dorset and Somerset. This magnificent county of great beauty has it all; beautiful beaches, coastline and countryside, mild climate, picturesque towns and villages, vibrant cities with shopping and nightlife, two National Parks and five Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Whatever makes your perfect holiday, you will find it in Devon. Many visitors come to explore, camp, climb, walk, cycle, swim, surf, kayak, walk, paddleboard, sail and fish and there are plenty of opportunities to do that here.

In the very heart of Devon, lies Dartmoor; a landscape of stunning views, granite tors (large, free-standing rock outcrops), deep wooded valleys with fast flowing rivers, and rugged open spaces. Set in 33 acres of beautiful woodland just 20 minutes from Plymouth, Dartmoor Zoo features the largest collection of big cats in the region. Exmoor National Park has spectacular views, both coastal and inland and an abundance of wildlife, some of which is unique to the area. The famous Exmoor ponies are seen grazing on the commons, and there are large numbers of wild red deer.

Devon has many villages, towns and two cities to explore. The City of Exeter is the county town with a magnificent cathedral. Shopping here is a must, with stylish boutiques to the high street big names. You can also visit Plymouth; Britains Ocean City, which is full of things to do. Visit the National Marine Aquarium, Plymouth Gin Distillery, Smeatons Tower Lighthouse or take a boat trip around Plymouth Sound. Devon is also home to towns such as Torquay, Paignton, Exmouth, Newton Abbot and Barnstaple, all with their own unique characteristics and charm. So go ahead, make Devon your next holiday destination and you will be guaranteed to have the time of your life!
