Poole is a coastal town and seaport in Dorset, with Europe’s largest natural harbour. It adjoins Bournemouth to the east and is 21 miles from the county town Dorchester. Popular with tourists, you will find blue-flagged safe beaches, including the world-famous Sandbanks, a vibrant quayside and a town full of history. It has a relaxed atmosphere, with friendly locals, great shops, seaside cafes, bars and restaurants and is the perfect place to start your holiday on the Jurassic Coast. Take a trip to the greyhound racing track or go to the speedway at Poole Stadium. Poole Museum, the Cockle Trail guided walk and treasure hunt are worth seeing as is Compton Acres, with its beautiful gardens. The Lighthouse is an arts centre, the largest in the UK outside of London always has events and shows to enjoy.
