2 Heath Cottages is found 2 miles north-east of Wareham just outside the small village of Sandford. Sandford Heath offers a rare example of Dorset's ancient heathland and an area of woodland which includes Beech, Alder, Birch and mature Scots Pine. In the spring and summer, you'll see Stonechats and Woodlarks and the Dartford Warbler, as well as more common birds such as Meadow Pipit and Skylark. This area is the gateway to the many wonders of this area of Dorset, including the Jurassic Coast, a site of outstanding international importance for Earth Science, designated a World Heritage Site in 2001.
