Info

The Vale of Glamorgan is a popular holiday destination located to the west of Cardiff, between the M4 motorway and the Severn Estuary in South Wales. Barry is the largest town in the Vale, and a popular seaside resort. Other towns include Penarth, Llantwit Major and Cowbridge. There are a number of historic places of interest in the region, including Coity Castle and Ogmore Castle, while popular surfing beaches include Rest Bay and Trecco Bay in Porthcawl. Explore the Merthyr Mawr sand dunes, spend a day at Ogmore-by-Sea, or go rock pooling or fossil hunting at Llantwit Major beach. For some retail therapy, Cowbridge is home to independent boutiques and has an annual food and drink festival. Other sights in the area include Cosmeston Medieval Village, Ewenny Pottery, Bryngarw Country Park and Kenfig National Nature Reserve and the Grand Pavilion Theatre in Porthcawl. The Glamorgan Heritage Coast is 14 miles of unspoilt coastline and breathtaking scenery, with plunging cliffs, secluded coves, beaches and breathtaking views.
