The Old Post Office

Welcome to The Old Post Office, a self-catering holiday cottage for 4 guests located in the Yorkshire village of Thorpe Bassett near Malton. Dating back to the early 1900s, as a former Post Office, it has been sensitively converted into a luxurious property whilst maintaining its original charming features. With a 5-Star rating from Visit England and a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor, guests are guaranteed an enjoyable stay.

Inside is an open plan living area with a beautiful beamed ceiling, an open fire in the old brick fireplace, comfortable seating, a dining table / chairs and fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. Additionally, there is a double bedroom, twin bedroom and a modern bathroom with Jacuzzi bath.

There are gardens front and back with a barbeque for al fresco dining and off-road parking. The market town of Malton is 6 miles away where you can visit the site of the castle, play golf or sample the eateries and pubs. Slightly further on are the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for scenic walks and photography. We offer short breaks during the low season, minimum 3 night stay.
