Porth y Dŵr in Ruthin is a charming Grade II* listed townhouse dating back to the medieval era, which has been lovingly restored to provide comfortable self-catering accommodation for 4 guests. Located just out of the town centre, and opposite the renowned Ruthin Gaol visitor attraction, the house is close to all amenities and within easy reach of good road links.

There is a welcoming open plan living area within the medieval timber frame with comfortable seating around the open fire, a bright dining area with large table, and a ‘hidden’ snug area for quiet reading and reflection. A gothic arch separates the kitchen from the living area. Sliding doors lead onto the private courtyard, which can also be reached from the kitchen. The master bedroom with king size bed has timber-panelled walls and an en suite bathroom. There is a second bedroom with two single beds, and a large family bathroom.

Permit car parking is available in the local car park and there are regular local bus services to Wrexham and Denbigh from the town for day trips out. There are many independent shops, cafes, restaurants, takeaways and pubs in Ruthin, and a large riverside park with children’s play equipment and plenty of space for dog-walking.
