The George & Dragon

The George and Dragon is a 16th century thatched coaching inn situated in the Wiltshire village of Rowde, 2 miles south of the market town of Devizes. The inn offers stylish guest rooms, an AA 2-Rosette awarded restaurant which specialises in seafood delivered daily from St Mawes in Cornwall, and has a well-stocked bar with friendly staff.

The 3 bedrooms have benefitted from a recent bespoke refurbishment by an interior designer, bringing a contemporary touch to the original architectural features. There is a double bedroom with en suite bathroom, another double with a private bathroom and an en suite family room with double bed and a day bed. All have complimentary toiletries, a TV, DVD player and facilities to make a hot drink.

A continental breakfast is included in the room tariffs, with a cooked breakfast also available. The award-winning restaurant and garden terrace is open for delicious lunches and main meals, with fresh fish from the Cornish coast our speciality. The bar serves a range of drinks including organic wines and real ales that can be enjoyed inside or out in the beer garden.
