Welcome to Old Fishergate House, a Visit Scotland 4-Star Gold Award rated bed and breakfast situated in St Andrews. Dating back to the mid-17th century, the property was once 5 fishermen’s homes, but is now amalgamated into one large house. Awarded a ‘Pride of Place Certificate’ by St Andrew’s Preservation Trust, it is considered one of the oldest houses in the town.

There are beautifully furnished bedrooms, decorated with traditional Scottish fittings and fabrics. Both of the rooms have 2 single beds and feature en suite facilities, a private sitting room, TV, free Wifi, hairdryer, fridge and beverage tray. The breakfast menu includes options such as a full Scottish, Scotch pancakes or smoked haddock omelette. Options for vegetarian or vegan diets can be arranged with prior notice and packed breakfasts can be provided for early starters. Hosts Angus and Jennifer are always happy to oblige.

Old Fishergate House is situated in North Castle Street, just 50 metres from St Andrews Castle and close to the cathedral ruins. Much of the stone used to build the house came from the cathedral. The town centre, university and harbour are just a few minutes’ walk away. The famous Old Course, the Royal and Ancient Clubhouse and British Golf Museum are also within a 10-minute walk.
