Lochfield Farm offers a pair of holiday cottages sleeping 4 and 6 guests, situated in a rural setting, just 2 miles outside the small town of Darvel and a short drive from Kilmarnock. Part of a listed farmstead that was the birthplace and childhood home of the famous scientist Sir Alexander Fleming from 1881, guests can today stay in these 2 beautiful self-catering homes.

Shepherd’s Rest sleeps 4 guests and has been renovated from the former creamery. All on ground floor and first floor level, this property has a double bedroom and a twin room, plus a shower room. Lamb Cottage is the former stables and grain store, carefully modernised to retain the beamed ceilings and vaulted ceilings. Sleeping 6, this cottage has a double and 2 twin bedrooms, as well as a bathroom and separate shower room.

Both cottages are environmentally friendly, heated by biomass boilers, lit with solar power and supplied with fresh water obtained from the local spring. Each also has an open plan living area with comfortable armchairs, a TV, free Wifi access, dining table and well-equipped kitchen area.
