Crown Inn

Crown Inn at Benson is a 17th century former coaching inn located in this scenic riverside village near Wallingford. A Grade II listed building offering a traditional bar, home cooked food and boutique bedrooms, all just a short walk from the River Thames on the edge of the Chilterns, it is ideal for travellers looking for a welcoming place to stay. There is ample parking with an EV charging point, for those arriving by car.

All 6 bedrooms are decorated in their own contemporary style, featuring en suite shower room facilities, a TV, free Wifi, USB plugs, hairdryer, desk and hospitality tray. There are double rooms, twin rooms which can be arranged with super-king beds, and 2 rooms which have an in-room roll-top bath. A full English, full vegetarian or lighter breakfast is available to overnight guests in the morning.

Guests can choose from a wide selection of drinks served from the bar, including locally-produced ales, specialty cocktails or even a nice cup of tea! Food is served at lunchtime and in the evening from an excellent menu including options for vegan and gluten-free diets. Sample menus are available to view on the inn’s website. There are beautiful feature fireplaces found in the bar and restaurant areas.
