Hownsgill Farm provides self-catering accommodation, camping and tearooms on the edge of the North Pennines. Situated at Lydgetts Junction where the C2C and Route 14 National Cycle Routes meet, just a mile-and-a half outside Consett and 12 miles from Durham, it provides an ideal stopover or holiday base.

There are 2 static caravans for hire, both 6-berth and featuring 2 bedrooms with a sofa bed in the open plan living area, which also has a kitchenette and shower room. The camping field can accommodate camper vans and touring caravans, with electric hook-ups and wastewater disposal facilities.

The tearooms are open for light refreshments, take-away snacks or home cooked main meals. Open throughout the year, there is ample car parking and panoramic views across the Lanchester Valley. The 150 feet high Hownsgill Viaduct is less than half a mile away for walkers, cyclists and photographers.
