Tomidhu Steading

Tomidhu Steading is a beautifully-converted barn offering self-catering accommodation in Crathie, 7 miles west of Ballater. Overlooking the River Dee and within walking distance to Balmoral Castle, it provides a perfect location for exploring Royal Deeside. There is on-site parking available and dogs are welcome to stay.

All 4 bedrooms are on ground floor level, with en suite shower room facilities, Freesat TV, Wifi, mini fridge and beverage tray. Lochnagar is a studio apartment for 4 with a double bed, 2 single beds, lounge area, kitchen, and offers improved access and a walk-in shower for guests with disabilities. Benrinnes and Imperial are double rooms and Glenullan is a triple room which share an equipped kitchen, lounge / dining room and can be booked together for groups of up to 7 people.

Balmoral Castle, the summer home of the Royal Family is just a short walk away. There are also numerous distilleries and castles in the area. For the active, there are a wide range of sporting pursuits such as mountain biking, cycling, winter sports and excellent walks. Behind Tomidhu is a beautiful birch forest which leads to Crathie Kirk, the regular place of worship of the Royal Family when they are in residence at Balmoral.
