The Crown Hotel

The Crown Hotel and Restaurant is a mid-17th century establishment offering a welcoming place to stay in the village of Mundford on the edge of Thetford Forest Park. Steeped in history as a hunting inn and then serving as a magistrate’s court, guests now enjoy comfortable accommodation, great food, local ales and beautiful gardens.

Guests can stay in the en suite bedrooms or 2 large self-catering houses. There are double, twin and family rooms, inclusive of a hearty full English breakfast. Dogs are welcome in some rooms. Clare House, 0.75 miles from the hotel, can be exclusively booked for groups and events, with 12 en suite bedrooms for up to 30 people, 2 kitchens, a garden and patio. External catering can be provided. Hannah House is a Victorian property accommodating 8 to 10 guests with 4 bedrooms, a lounge, glass roofed kitchen, dining room, bathroom, additional WC and garden.

There are 2 traditional bars with open fires and selling quality real ales such as Courage Directors, Woodfordes Wherry, Ruddles County and other guest beers. In addition, there is a selection of wines and over 50 malt whiskies. The restaurant dining areas are known as the Old Court Restaurant and the Club Room. Our menus provide traditional fayre, with à la carte dining and specials.
