Yalbury Cottage

Yalbury Cottage Hotel and Restaurant is found in the heart of Dorset, in Lower Bockhampton, a hamlet just 2 miles from the county town of Dorchester. The beautiful building consists of thatched cottages dating back 300 years, which has been lovingly updated to offer fine dining and beautiful, spacious bed and breakfast accommodation. Owners Jamie and Ariane Jones were the proud recipients of the Small Hotel of the Year award in 2015 by The Good Hotel Guide and continue to maintain the highest of standards. Our restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, cream or full afternoon tea and either a 2 or 3 course dinner. We are happy to be a dog-friendly establishment.

Guest bedrooms are double /twin rooms; all en-suite with superb views across the Dorset countryside. Tastefully decorated and very comfortable, each room has a TV / DVD, Wifi connectivity and a well-resourced hospitality tray with fresh coffee, fresh milk and our own homemade biscuits. After a sound nights sleep, enjoy our breakfast with a choice of cereal, a healthy option, Full Dorset cooked breakfast, choice of free range eggs cooked-to-order or fish. We take pride in sourcing good quality local produce, and can cater for special dietary needs.

Dorchester is filled with history and plenty of things to do, from walks along the river, to picnics in Borough Gardens, to visiting the many great museums in the town. Brewery Square is the place to be for eateries, bars, cinema and a great atmosphere. Thomas Hardy is one of the towns most famous sons, and you will find many references to him throughout Dorchester, including his cottage birthplace and Victorian townhouse, both of which are now National Trust properties.
