Off The Rails

Off the Rails at Plockton Station is a unique 2-bedroomed holiday home which has been sensitively refurbished from a Victorian former railway station that once stood along the old Inverness-to-Kyle Line. Just 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of the village and close to the new railway station, it is a train enthusiasts paradise where you can still spot the occasional steam train puffing past!

Providing modern self-catering facilities for 4 to 6 people, whilst retaining the character of the original building, this accommodation is all on ground floor level. The former ticket office is now a lounge with an open fire in the Victorian fireplace, a sofa bed, armchairs, TV and DVD player. The kitchen was once the Gentleman’s Waiting Room and is fully-equipped, including a breakfast bar and dining table.

There are 2 bedrooms, converted from the Station Master’s Office and Ladies’ Waiting Room. One is an en suite king room with a sauna and the other can be arranged as a twin or super king room as required. There is also a utility room with laundry equipment. Outside the house is a sitoorerie for sitting in the fresh air, also with a barbeque for al fresco dining, and there is also car parking.
