Scapa House

Scapa House is a Visit Scotland 3-Star Gold rated guest house with ‘Taste Our Best’ awarded breakfasts, situated in the seaside village of Scapa. A Victorian villa, formerly used as accommodation for the excise officers at the adjacent distillery, it is only 5 minutes by road to Kirkwall, with far-reaching views across the beautiful Scapa Flow.

Guests are treated to freshly baked cakes with a cup of tea and coffee on arrival and there is ample on-site car parking, including disabled parking. All 7 bedrooms are equipped with en suite facilities, TV, Wifi, hairdryer and refreshment tray. There are rooms with king size or twin beds, including some on the ground floor.

Breakfast options include a full Scottish or smoked salmon, with homemade bread also available. Vegetarian, gluten-free or other special diets are happily accommodated with prior notice, and packed lunches can be provided. Owners Ida and Balfour are happy to suggest places to visit and Scapa Distillery tours can be arranged.
