An Taigh Clach - The Stone House

Dating back to the early 1900s, An Taigh Clach or ‘The Stone House’, is a beautifully refurbished traditional house surrounded by open croftland, offering accommodation in Carloway on the Isle of Lewis. The house is Visit Scotland 4-Star rated for self-catering. Sleeping 4 guests; walkers, cyclists and anglers are welcome, with dogs allowed to stay.

The open plan living room is filled with natural light from the multi-faceted windows. It features a multi-fuel burning stove, television, comfortable seating, plus a fully-equipped kitchen including a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. The 2 bedrooms comprise a double and a twin, and the family shower room has locally-made Hebridean soap.

Outside the house is a terrace with seating, as well as a shed for the storage of bikes / equipment and also for the drying of wet suits and outdoor clothing. Car parking is provided and there is a public bus service which stops metres from the door. The nearest supermarket is in Stornoway, but food hampers can be provided on arrival with prior notice.
