The Wyvern Shipping Co. Ltd offers holiday narrowboat hire on the Grand Union Canal from Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire; just 38 miles from central London or 45 minutes by train from London Euston. Choose from our 16 comfortable, well-maintained and individually-named boats which are either 2, 4 or 6 to 8 berth. Our friendly team can help with your choice. Boats are all 4 or 5-Star rated and some are pet-friendly.

At the start of your holiday, one of our experienced instructors will show you how everything works on the boat, take you out on the water and guide you through your first lock. All holidays start and finish from our boatyard at Linslade, near Leighton Buzzard. The wide and scenic Grand Union Canal links London to Birmingham, passing through rolling countryside, bustling towns and quaint villages which you are free to explore!

Sailing south takes you towards the Tring Summit and on towards London; whereas heading north opens up the route to Milton Keynes and the Northampton Arm. After a day’s cruising, why not enjoy some canal fishing (rod licence required). The adjacent towpath provides flat, traffic-free walking or cycling. Nature-watching is also a must, with habitats along the canal providing homes for lots of wildlife.
