Picton Castle Gardens is a 13th century castle surrounded by 60 acres of RHS gardens, near the town of Haverfordwest, within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The castle is unique, with 4 symmetrically-spaced half round towers and gatehouse entrance flanked by narrower towers, the only one of this type in mainland UK.

Visitors can stay in West Gatehouse Lodge, sleeping 4 guests in 2 bedrooms; a king size and a twin, with space for a cot. East Gatehouse Lodge also sleeps 4 but has a king size bedroom and a double sofa bed in the living area. Both have Wifi, a sitting room, kitchen and bathroom, outdoor area and parking. Both are also dog-friendly.

The historic gardens include the recently-restored walled garden, fernery, jungle garden and ancient trees, with collections of rhododendrons, camellias, magnolias, as well as exotic and indigenous planting throughout the grounds. Children will enjoy the bamboozalem, maze, playground, Peach House Wood and wildlife garden.

Maria’s Courtyard Restaurant serves Spanish-themed food, along with paninis, sandwiches, baguettes, cakes and coffee. Picton is also home to The Welsh Owl Garden and Zoo, housing many species of birds of prey, small mammals and reptiles. There is also a gift shop, art galleries, heritage centre and lawnmower exhibition.
