Birsay Outdoor Centre and Campsite

Birsay Outdoor Centre and Campsite is a rural haven for those interested in nature, exploring historical sites, taking part in outdoors activities or just experiencing peace and tranquillity. Located between the Loch of Boardhouse and north-west coast of Mainland Orkney; solo travellers, couples, families and groups are welcome.

The level grassy campsite has 28 pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes; with 13 electric hook-ups. There are WCs and showers (with accessibility), laundry facilities and a drying green. The hostel, with a shared kitchen and dining area, has 5 bedrooms sleeping 1 - 26 people. Exclusive room or whole hostel bookings are available.

Dogs are welcome on the campsite but not in the hostel. Visitors will find a playpark adjacent to the site, and a sandy beach a short stroll away. Birsay village is a 10 - 15 minute walk. The RSPB Reserves at Marwick Head and The Loons are within a short drive and there are walks, cycle routes, standing stones and more around the area.
