Black Isle Yurts are set within an area of private woodland on Easter Hillockhead Farm, overlooking the Moray Firth, close to the villages of Cromarty, Fortrose and Rosemarkie and only 30 minutes’ drive north from Inverness. Each hand-built yurt is unique; individually decorated and furnished for a comfortable, relaxing holiday break.

There are 6 yurts modelled on a traditional central Asian design; Holly, Aspen, Rowan, Willow, Juniper, Cherry and Larch; plus Hazel Geodome. Completely off-grid, all are well-equipped, including a wood burning stove, rechargeable lantern, camping gas hob with kettle and pans, cool box, table and chairs and outside picnic bench.

Larch and Willow sleep 5 people, Hazel is the geodome which sleeps 2 guests and the rest all sleep 4. All guests have access to The Hub which offers toilets and showers including accessible facilities, baby changing and washing-up sinks. Wheelbarrows will be provided to transport luggage from the parking area to the yurts.

The Black Isle is one of the most historic and beautiful areas of Scotland. One of the region’s great draws is its pod of resident bottlenose dolphins, often seen from Chanonry Point. The Black Isle boasts 2 RSPB nature reserves and is popular with walkers, mountain bikers and cyclists. Please see the website for more information.
