Knock Old Castle

Knock Old Castle is a 14th century castle renovated into a unique holiday home for 8 guests. The castle is on the Ayrshire coast, a short walk from the shore and close to the bustling town of Largs. This holiday property is ideally located to explore the islands of Cumbrae, Arran and the Isle of Bute.

Inside, there is a cosy keep on the lower ground floor that can be used as a quiet room for reading or playing games, with its wood burning stove and armchairs. The kitchen / diner is on the ground floor and is equipped with a dishwasher, washer / dryer and dining table handcrafted from elm.

The first floor has 2 sitting rooms, both with a wood burner and leading out to the balcony. The 4 bedrooms cover the first, second and third floors. All have beds made from the elm trees found on-site and have modern en suite facilities. The fourth bedroom has a sauna in the adjoining tower.

The Turret Room is the focal point of the castle, with 360-degree windows that can be used for fantastic stargazing at night. Outside, guests can relax on the patio or in the hot tub. There are many scenic walks around the grounds and up Knock Hill. Please see the website for further details.
