Applegarth Holiday Cottage

Applegarth Holiday Cottage provides a quiet and scenic place to stay along the banks of the Murk Esk, in the village of Grosmont. This former school teachers’ house, dating back some 160 years, is nestled in a beautiful garden. It is only a short walk across the river to the station and tea rooms on the North York Moors Heritage Railway.

The cottage sleeps up to 4, plus there is room for 2 additional children. Visitors will find a sitting room with a warming wood burning stove and TV; as well as a fully-equipped kitchen including a dishwasher and a dining table in front of the lovely stone fireplace with wood burning stove.

Upstairs, there is a double bedroom, a twin room, fold-out bed if required and a family bathroom. An extra WC is available and there is also a washing machine and fridge freezer in the utility room. Fast Wifi and central heating are found throughout the cottage. Outside, is a garden with patio. Free permit parking is provided for the main car park.

There is a nearby shop, cafes and a pub serving food. There is lots to see and do in this glorious area of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park with walks from the door and numerous trails and hidden gems. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway 1952 themed Grosmont Station is where the heritage railway ends and the main rail network begins. Grosmont station just a short walk away offers Steam train rides through the Moors, explore the engine sheds and museum at the steam hub. With so much to see and do in the area there really is something for everyone here.
