Compton House

Welcome to Compton House, a 17th century country hotel, located in Axbridge on the edge of the Mendip Hills National Landscape (AONB), with views of the Somerset Levels. A Grade II listed building with parts dating back to the medieval era, the hotel is in a great location, 5 minutes’ walk away from the centre of this historic town.

All 5 of the guest bedrooms are elegantly furnished with attractive décor and equipped with en suite facilities, TV, Wifi, and a beverage tray. There are double, twin and 4-poster rooms, including the beautiful Elizabethan Room with 4-poster, original 16th century fireplace and private dressing room featuring a claw foot iron bath.

Breakfast is served in either the dining room, one of the private rooms or charming garden. The menu offers a choice of a full cooked English, full vegetarian or continental-style. Small weddings, family occasions and business meetings can also be accommodated. Parking is available. Owner Patricia provides a warm welcome.
