Nestled at the head of the Cuckmere Valley, Oakfield Farm at Golden Cross is a working farm surrounded by 30 acres of fields with a nature pond, located just 4 miles outside Hailsham. Centrally-located for visiting the High Weald, South Downs, Ashdown Forest, East Sussex coast and many other attractions, the site is family-friendly.
The campsite is a safe place for children, with vehicles only allowed for unloading. The main field is popular with families, featuring a large area in the centre for ball games, and the pond area is for adults-only. The horse paddock is open during busy periods. There is also The Log Cabin for 2 people, with a double bed and seating.
The site has toilets, showers and a small shack selling fresh coffee, fast food and refreshments. Dogs are allowed at certain times only. There is a shop and regular buses to Eastbourne and Uckfield from the centre of the village. Knockhatch Adventure Park is close by with a petting farm, owl sanctuary, waterslides, rowing lake and soft play.
