The Dun Cow Inn is a former 19th century country inn with good food, drink and lodgings in the market town of Sedgefield. Refurbished from the old pub and adjacent grocery store in the 70s, it has welcomed many famous people over the years for an informal dinner, including George W Bush when he was on a state visit in 2003 and Duncan Bannatyne from the TV programme Dragons Den.

We have 6 guest bedrooms and you can expect the same level of welcome and hospitality as our famous guests. Each is decorated in a country style to maintain the historic charm of the building. All have en suite facilities, TV, beverage tray with a selection of hot drinks and biscuits. Our bar offers a friendly place to sit, relax and enjoy a guest beer or glass of wine. A delicious Full English breakfast is included and served in our restaurant. You may want to come back later and try one of our freshly prepared specials from our seasonal menu.

Whether you are staying for a short stopover or a longer break, we are ideally located for local attractions like the racecourse, Country Park and 17th century church. We are also close to the A1(M) for routes to Darlington and Durham.
