The Old Excise House

A beautiful bed and breakfast in the village of Port Ellen on the Isle of Islay, The Old Excise House offers a comfortable stay to all visitors. The former Excise House for the famous Laphroaig Distillery is surrounded by the stunning unspoilt landscapes and views across the Oa Peninsula and Antrim Coast. Your hosts Ron and Emma offer genuine Scottish hospitality and excellent accommodation. We offer special golfing breaks and tuition from Ron who is a PGA Golf Professional.

The house has 2 en suite guest rooms; both individually decorated with lovely sea views. Each room has Freesat TV, alarm clock, hairdryer, luxury toiletries, Wifi and welcome trays with fresh milk and homemade biscuits. Texa has a walk-in shower and Laphroig has a freestanding cast-iron bath. A hearty breakfast is included and served in our breakfast/sitting room in front of a log burning stove. We have a selection of Scottish delights on offer including Campbeltown smoked salmon, Stornoway black pudding and our own freshly made tattie scones!
