The Bear Hotel

The Bear Hotel is a former coaching inn in the historic town of Crickhowell in the Brecon Beacons. Dating back to 1432, it is full of charm and character, providing a haven for travellers over the last 500 years. Today, you will receive the warmest of welcomes and excellent hospitality from hosts the Hindmarsh family.

Our guest rooms have been sensitively updated to ensure their original features including stone walls and exposed oak beams remain, whilst providing modern comforts. Our rooms are either located in the main building or across the cobbled courtyard in the converted stables. All have en suite facilities with our feature rooms having extras like freestanding or Jacuzzi baths or 4-poster beds. We can also provide extra beds or cots for families.

Our bar offers a great place to relax and unwind with a wide selection of real ales and wines on offer. We serve delicious meals all day, using locally produced and some organic suppliers. We offer bed and breakfast, half board and even special rates for special events.
