Woodside House is a grand 19th century home offering self-catering accommodation for up to 14 guests in the Derbyshire village of Ambergate. Dating back to the 1840s, this historical house was originally built as the Chief Engineer’s residence during the building of the Midland Railway.

Rated with 4-Stars by Visit England, there is a spacious lounge with wood burning stove, games corner, TV, DVD and dining area, a large conservatory, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and a washing machine. There are also 6 en suite bedrooms and a triple room in the attic. There is Wifi and central heating throughout the house. Outside, there is a private garden with terrace and barbeque, large chess board and stunning scenic views.

We welcome many walking and cycling groups exploring the area. Ambergate straddles the A6 and lies in a valley, now part of the Derwent Valley Heritage Corridor. It is a great starting point for a walk, either along the Cromford Canal, or through the Shining Cliff Woods and beyond. Belper is close by where you can find plenty of shops and eateries.
