The Lion Hotel

A warm welcome awaits guests at The Lion Hotel in the centre of Dulverton. Dating back to the 1820s, travellers will find a tasty meal, local Somerset ales and comfortable guest rooms. Exmoor National Park is on our doorstep so we welcome many outdoors enthusiasts at the hotel, including dogs!

The Lion has single, double, twin and family rooms available, all with their own en suite facilities, a television, direct dial telephone and well-stocked beverage tray. A delicious full English breakfast is included in our room rates which is served in our restaurant, which is open throughout the day. Our chef produces a seasonal menu using the best of locally-produced ingredients, with venison being a speciality. There are also options for vegetarians.

Exmoor National Park is popular for sight-seeing, walking, hiking, climbing, canoeing and riding. You will find heather and grass moorland, a rugged coastline, oak woodland areas, rivers and steep valleys called combes. There is much wildlife to be seen including Exmoor ponies, wild red deer, otters, kingfishers, goosanders, salmon and trout. Dotted across this landscape are farmsteads, villages and hamlets.
