Doniford has a dog-friendly beach with plenty of rocks and rock pools containing numerous fossils. Watchet lies on the coast about 9 miles east of Minehead and the town has a good collection of shops, inns and restaurants. There are two museums in Watchet; Market House Museum and the Watchet Boat Museum. The West Somerset Steam Railway stops in the town.
