Carrickfergus is County Antrim’s oldest town and one of the oldest settlements in Northern Ireland. The town is dominated by Carrickfergus Castle, built in the 12th Century and the oldest and best preserved Norman Castle in Ireland. Carrickfergus Museum holds a vast collection of local artefacts. The town is an excellent starting point for exploring the Causeway Coast and Glens.
