Warkworth has local shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants and is best known for its well-preserved medieval castle, church and hermitage. A short walk from the village leads to a sandy beach. Nearby Alnwick offers a range of amenities and attractions, including a theatre, cinema, restaurants, pubs, shops and a swimming pool. Alnwick Castle, also the site of The Alnwick Garden, dominates the west of the town.
