Okel Tor Mine is situated just east of the peaceful village of Calstock on the River Tamar in Cornwall. Our accommodation comprises The Count House and Smithy which both offer self-catering riverside retreats for 2 guests. The ivy-clad buildings, glorious views and sounds of nature at Okel Tor Mine make this accommodation a perfect setting for couples seeking somewhere unique and memorable. Pets are welcome in both of our cottages.

The Count House is the former mine captain’s office and The Smithy is the former forge. Characterful and both renovated to a high standard, relax on the sofa in front of a log burner. The kitchens are compact but fully-equipped and there is a king size bedroom and shower room too. Central heating and hot water are supplied by a carbon-neutral wood pellet boiler. Guests will find a TV / DVD player, music system, games, DVDs and books.

Calstock is set under a magnificent railway viaduct. Relax by the river, watch the boats go by and enjoy a meal and a pint in dog-friendly pubs, at a friendly café or artisan ice cream shop. Visit the Lime Kiln Art Gallery or stroll a bit further along the riverside to find the National Trust’s Cotehele House, gardens, working corn mill, quay and tearoom.
