The Samson Inn

Welcome to The Samson Inn, a 17th century former coaching inn situated in the picturesque village of Gilsland near Brampton. Located near Hadrian’s Wall, it provides a restful place to stay for walkers, cyclists or people touring the area; featuring comfortable guest rooms, local pub grub plus a friendly and well-stocked bar.

Rooms are decorated in a contemporary style, with many also having original decorative cast iron fireplaces. Each is equipped with en suite shower facilities, free Wifi, TV and a hospitality tray. There are a choice of double or twin rooms, plus the option of an extra single bed if required. A tasty cooked breakfast is included.

Co-operatively owned by the community, all food is produced from fresh local ingredients. The menu consists of a selection of British classics with a modern twist, including our signature ‘The Sampson Burger’ made with rare breed beef and bacon. Guests can also enjoy a variety of locally-brewed ales and a chat at the bar.
