Rowling End House

A traditional Lakeland farmhouse, Rowling End House is nestled within the picturesque and peaceful Newlands Valley, only 4 miles from Keswick in the Lake District. Sleeping 8 in 4 bedrooms, with well-behaved dogs welcome, this wonderful self-catering property has been awarded a highly prestigious Visit England 5-Star Gold Award rating. Rowling End and our other property, The Mouse House, can be booked together for groups of 10 people.

The accommodation features a ground floor sitting room with an open fire, a TV and DVD; and a library / second sitting room with a wood burning stove, TV and DVD. The well-equipped farmhouse kitchen benefits from far-reaching views of Skiddaw, with equipment including an Aga, induction hob, electric fan oven, dishwasher, dining table and chairs. The boot room contains a washer and tumble dryer. There are also 2 downstairs WCs.

Upstairs, on the first and second floors, are 4 bedrooms; 1 super king size or twin en suite, 1 super king size or twin, 1 king size en suite and 1 king size. The bedding, bed linen and towels are from The White Company. The main bathroom offers a characterful roll-top bath with views across the valley to Catbells, plus a walk-in shower. A travel cot and stairgate are available for families. A library of books and DVDs are provided for rainy days.

A welcome pack is provided and outside catering is available by arrangement. Outside, is a secure yard to the rear of the house leading from the boot room. There is also a garden with campfire and ample car parking space. Secure storage is provided for bicycles. There are superb walks straight from the front door, including direct access to the famous fells. Derwentwater is only 15 minutes’ walk across fields and a pub is found within 1 mile.
