Solway View

Solway View is a family-run touring and camping site, with glamping wigwams, situated on Balmangan Farm near Kirkcudbright, with panoramic sea views along Kirkcudbright Bay and also surrounded by 330 acres of farmland. Visit Scotland 4-Star rated with a Gold Award for Green Tourism, this site is perfect for all holidaymakers, outdoors enthusiasts and well-behaved dogs are welcome too.

There are 5 timber-built wigwams available, sleeping up to 5 people. Individually-named as Screel, Criffel, Merrick, Cairnsmore and Bengairn, they are each equipped with a microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, en suite toilet and have a picnic bench and parking outside. Our caravan and camping fields have a choice of grass or hard standing pitches, some with electric hook ups. Every pitch is spacious, has a picnic bench and firepit. Some have a sea view.

Site facilities include heated shower and toilet blocks, disabled facilities, a cooking area, dishwashing area, laundry and drying tent. Electricity is derived from solar power, with our own wind turbine affectionately called ‘Tina Turner’. There is also a children’s playground, recreation field and a dog park. Guests are also welcome to explore the farm and surrounding woodland.
