The Peacock

The Peacock at Rowsley is a charming country house hotel situated in this scenic village at the confluence of the River Wye and River Derwent near Matlock. AA 4-Star rated, with a 3-Rosette awarded restaurant, listed in The Good Hotel Guide 2021 and Michelin Guide 2020, guests can enjoy boutique-style guest rooms, fine food and friendly service.

The 15 bedrooms are all individual, with an elegant mix of classic and contemporary furnishings. Each bedroom is equipped with en suite facilities, luxury toiletries, air conditioning, a Smart TV, Wifi and beverage tray. Room service is available. There are single and double rooms plus 3 Special Rooms with extras, including a 4-poster bed or private sitting room. Dogs are allowed with prior agreement.

Bed and breakfast and half board rates are available as preferred. The restaurant menu dishes are created using the best of seasonal, local ingredients by our talented kitchen team. There is also a traditional bar and outdoor seating on the terrace area in the gardens. Corporate events and private dining can be accommodated. The Peacock can also provide day passes for fly fishing along the river.
