The Albatross

The Albatross is a comfortable hostel situated in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne. Close to the tourist attractions, shops, bars and restaurants, as well as the Central Metro and Railway Station, it is open 24 hours a day to give guests the freedom to come and go as they please. Ideal for backpackers or holidaymakers on a budget, there is secure bicycle parking.

There are 4, 6, 8 and 10-bed mixed dormitories and a 6-bed female-only dormitory. Dormitories can be hired by bed or exclusively for groups and families. Secure lockers are available in each room. There are well-maintained shared toilets and showering facilities, plus a communal kitchen where guests can help themselves to complimentary tea, coffee and toast in the morning.

The lounge has comfortable seating, a television, dining table / chairs, a PC, pool table and dart board. There are a range of facilities in-house, including a laundry, inclusive bed linen and towel hire. CCTV is available throughout and there is also free Wifi in public areas. The cathedral, St James’ Park and the Haymarket area, with its live music clubs are all within walking distance from the hostel.
