Belle Isle Estate

Belle Isle Estate offers a collection of self-catering holiday cottages and apartments set within the grounds of a 17th century castle and estate designated as a Special Area of Conservation. Spanning 470 acres of pretty grounds encompassed by the waters of the River Erne, with 8 islands, it is the perfect place for short breaks, holidays, group retreats or weddings and other special events. B & B rooms are also available on selected dates.

Belle Isle has a rich history, dating back to before the 15th century, as the place where the Annals of Ulster were written. Belle Isle Castle was built in the early 17th century as the home to many generations of nobles and has been hosting events since as early as 1760. Belle Isle Estate stretches over many acres across Lisbellaw, on the spectacular shores of Upper Lough Erne and is perfectly located to explore everything Co. Fermanagh has to offer.

There are 13 self-catering unique and stylish holiday homes, all sensitively-renovated from courtyard buildings and cottages. These range from the Courtyard Ash and Oak Apartments sleeping 2, up to the larger courtyard apartments of Sycamore, Rowan and Chestnut sleeping 8 guests. Dogs are welcome. All have a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living room with a television, modern bathroom, outside seating area and a barbecue.

Exclusive hire of the castle and estate is available for a range of occasions, as well as golfing or fishing breaks and corporate events. The grand dining hall in the Hamilton Wing is the perfect place to cater for breakfast, lunch and dinner, or have afternoon tea outdoors in the sunken garden in fine weather. The estate offers woodland walks, nature trails and activities, with boats, kayaks and paddle boards on our lough shores available to rent.
