Tan House Farm

Tan House Farm in Longtown is a working sheep farm offering a bed and breakfast room and campsite, on the edge of the Black Mountains, 11 miles from Hay-on-Wye and 15 miles from Hereford. Surrounded by 70 acres, there is also fishing on the river which flows through the farm.

The bed and breakfast room is in the farmhouse itself, with its own bathroom and facilities to make in-room tea and coffee. There is a double and a single bed in the room, making it an ideal place to stay for couples, families or friends. A full cooked breakfast is served in the morning.

The campsite is dog-friendly and there are showers, toilets and fresh water provided. Fishing on the river can be arranged. There is an inn in the village which serves food, plus a farm shop with a post office. Close to the circular Cat’s Back hiking route, the area is a paradise for walkers.
