California Cottage Campsite

California Cottage Campsite provides camping facilities and traditional shepherd’s huts along the Jurassic Coast, only a mile from Swanage and its sandy beach. Offering uninterrupted sea views towards The Needles on the Isle of Wight, the whole site can also be exclusively hired for special events or group holidays.

All vehicles and tents are accommodated, with walkers and cyclists particularly welcome. The 2 shepherd’s huts date back to the late-19th century. Billy Wix sleeps 2 in a double bed and Laughing Betsy sleeps 3 in a flexible double / twin bed (s), with a single bunk bed over the top. Both have heating and lighting.

On-site facilities include composting toilets and cold-water wash basins. Dogs and firepits are allowed and luggage transfers can be organised for guests following the South West Coast Path which runs close by. For exclusive site hire, marquees, external catering, activities and guides can all be arranged.
