The Tranquil Otter

The Tranquil Otter Luxury Lodges are a collection of Visit England 5-Star Gold awarded self-catering properties in a rural location, in Thurstonfield, just 5 miles from Carlisle. There are 9 lodges on the south bank of the on-site lough and plenty of natural woodland. Each property has Wifi, its own flat-bottomed boat for lake exploration, a private deck with sunken hot tub, and both Egret and Heron lodges also have a sauna.

There are cosy lodges sleeping 1 or 2, and family or group-friendly lodges for 4 or 6 guests. Some are accessible, with an M1 or M2 grading for guests with disabilities. All have an open plan living area with comfortable seating, log burning stove, Smart TV, dining table and equipped kitchen including a Tassimo coffee machine and a dishwasher. There is also a bathroom or wet room with both a bathtub and shower.

Beds are made up with fresh linen for guests’ arrival and some essentials are included, such as a basket of logs, dishwasher tablets, shower gel and handwash. Welcome packs of locally-sourced produce can also be organised. Well-behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement.
