The Herdwick Huts are 5 traditional shepherd’s huts nestled beneath the Fairfield Horseshoe mountains and Nab Scar fell of the Lake District. Situated in Rydal; close to Rydal Water lake, Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage in Grasmere and various mountain trails, they are well-located for visiting the many local area attractions and taking part in different outdoors pursuits.

Off-grid, each of the huts sleeps 2 adults and a child; featuring a double bed with single bunk over the top (both with memory foam mattresses), a wood burning stove and oven for heating and cooking (with wood, newspaper and kindling), drop-leaf table and chair, handy camping gas stove, kettle, tea light lanterns and LED lighting. Outside, is a picnic bench.

The woodland toilet block is close by, or there is the main utility block with showers, toilets and washing-up area. Yoga retreats can be organised. The Old School Room Tea Shop is on-site and Rydal Hall is found a short walk away through a woodland sculpture path. There are waterfalls, caves and plunge pools nearby and Ambleside is within walking distance.
