Appleby Castle

Appleby Castle is a grand 11th century castle offering a wonderful place to stay along the banks of the River Eden. Situated in Appleby-in-Westmorland, between the North Pennines and Yorkshire Dales, this is a superb base from which to explore the area. Guests will find elegant bedrooms, a fine dining restaurant and extensive grounds.

There are twin and double bedrooms; all with thoughtful décor, en suite facilities, complimentary toiletries, a desk, Wifi, hairdryer and refreshments tray. The stunning suites offer fine antique furnishings and original tapestries, including The State Bedroom, with its two 16th century 4-poster beds and luxurious panelled en suite bathroom.

A tasty English breakfast is served in the morning and dinner is also available in the castle dining room. There are many relaxing walks in and around the 27-acres of grounds, with a Norman keep and children’s adventure playground. Spring and summertime castle tours can be arranged.
