Netherby Hall - Cumbria Tourism Awards Winner for Self Catering Accommodation of the Year 2024. Netherby Hall is an historic Grade II listed Cumbrian mansion with a walled garden and stables, on a private estate in the Esk Valley, close to the border with Scotland. Offering luxury self-catering apartments and cottages, all are dog-friendly and we have a dedicated dog exercise area for your dogs to enjoy playtime off lead. Easy to find, the hall is only a 15-minute drive from the M6, close to the Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site and just 45 minutes’ drive to the Lake District.
There are 1- or 2-bedroom apartments one has a lift for the less able and are within the renovated stable yard and 3 cottages within the grounds, each with 2 bedrooms, four of the properties have second bedrooms that have zip and link beds allowing the room to be configured as a twin room. Each one is unique, individually named and offers original charming features, whilst providing a host of contemporary amenities including a fully equipped kitchen, Smart TV, free Wi-Fi, modern bathroom (some with en-suite facilities) and parking with electric vehicle charging. One of our cottages now boasts a wood-fuelled hot tub located on the cottages private patio making it the perfect place to unwind.
Owned by the same family, the Pentonbridge Inn is an historic former coaching inn, just 3 miles away from the hall. Pentonbridge Inn retains its Michelin Star, first awarded in April 2023, offering a seasonal menu with its heart in local produce, including from the gardens at Netherby Hall, but also using the best products from around the UK, including Cumbrian meat and Scottish fish and shellfish.
