Welsummer Camping

For eco-friendly countryside camping and glamping on the edge of the Kent Downs National Landscape, Welsummer Camping is found in Platt’s Heath, 9 miles outside the town of Maidstone and hidden amongst woodland. A haven for families, nature lovers and walkers; natural workshops, yoga and weddings can also be arranged.

Guests bringing their own tents can pitch in the small and large meadows, or deep in the woods! Glampers can choose from the bell tents sleeping 2 adults and 3 children; the 3 rustic cabins Wendy’s House for 3 people, Alice’s Palace for 3 and The Hive for 5, or the newly-built Whisky Library for 2 - 3 guests. All have a campfire.

There is access to the 2 rustic bathrooms including 2 loos, 2 showers and 2 sinks, with baby changing facilities and washing-up sinks; plus the kitchen cupboard shed and free charging points powered by solar energy. The small shop sells a selection of camping essentials, hot tea and coffee and sometimes ice cream. Fresh eggs are also available.
